This approach has not been without its share of controversy, however.
One of the issues often raised with cameras in nursing home rooms is whether or not a resident is truly able to provide their consent to being recorded, especially if they have memory loss. Another issue is that of privacy. The most basic of daily living activities such as bathing, toileting and dressing could all be captured on camera. Some are concerned that this may be demeaning to residents.
